LaMilza Leads the Way, Dell and Rowan PR at IWU Polar Bear Classic

Ava LaMilza led the Monarchs with a 12th place overall finish in a talented field.

MARION, Ind. – The future Ferris State Bulldog and former NJCAA Cross Country All-American, Ava LaMilza, led six Monarchs in the 5K event at Friday's (March 21) Polar Bear Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. Friday's event opened up the 2025 outdoor slate for the women's and men's track & field teams.

LaMilza finished 12^th overall and was the top junior college runner with a 5K time of 18:45.53 to lead the way. Emma Dell was next with a PR time of 19:56.29 to check in 27^th and Erin Rowan also set a new PR at 20:21.54 to finish 30^th overall.

Kelsey Ettel was 48^th with a time of 24:41.00, while Lisaleen Ung and Vanessa Sayers finished in 49^th and 50^th place, respectively.

The Monarchs return to action April 5 at the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Invite.
