UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Macomb Indoor Track & Field recorded six new PRs on Friday (Feb. 20) to highlight a successful day at the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) Tune Up.
Women's Recap
Erin Leverenz entered the 800m and 3000m and set new career best marks in both events, notching a 2:56.50 in the 800m and a 13:44.15 in the 3000m for a pair of PRs.
Erin Rowan raced to a new personal best 800m time of 2:30.39, while
Emma Dell set a new collegiate personal record of 11:07.05 in the 300m.
Rowan's 800m time was good for 10
th overall while Dell clocked in at 2:31.01 for a season-best time and a 12
th place finish. Leverenz came in 24
th with her PR time and
Amber Watta finished right behind in 25
th with a time of 2:56.97.
In the 3000m, Dell's PR was good for a 14
th place finish, while Rowan set a season best after crossing the finish line at 1:33.93 in 23
rd place. Watta was 27
th at 13:13.75 and Leverenz was 28
th thanks to her new personal best time.
Men's Recap
Brandon Penberthy set the tone for the day for the entire team, recording a season-best time of 17:41.60 in the 5000m to check in 12
th overall.
Michael Nivala Jr. continued his breakout freshman campaign with another PR in the 1-Mile after checking in as 4:24.62 to finish ninth overall in the loaded event. Men's 800m action saw Nivala check in 24
th with a 2:08.78 followed by
Jack DeWaele with a PR of 2:09.66 in 25
th.
DeWaele continued his strong day in the 3000m with a season-best 9:48.73 to check in 36
th.
