BY THE NUMBERS: 3
Homestand ahead! The Monarchs, now 3-0 on the young season, begin a three-game homestand Tuesday (Nov. 8) when they welcome Adrian JV to the Sports & Expo Center for a special start time of 7:30 p.m. The homestand will take place exclusively on Tuesdays as Bryant & Stratton (OH) visits on Nov. 15 while Glen Oaks follows on the 22nd.

BY THE NUMBERS: 450
Saturday's 59-56 road victory at Lake Michigan was the 450th win in program history as Macomb Women's Basketball moved to 450-330 overall since its inception in the 1974-75 season. The win also marked the 270th of head coach Jay Ritchie's career, 217 victories more than the coach with the second-most wins in program history (Edna Allen, 53).

A 3-0 START FOR THE MONARCHS!
The Monarchs started the 2022-23 campaign off right with a perfect 3-0 week, capped off by a one-possession victory at Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon. Through three games, the Monarchs have won in a variety of ways, cruising in game one at home before battling to a pair of victories over the weekend at the Red Hawk Showcase (one neutral-site win and one road win).

GO OFF, RYLEE!
Rylee Thomas was lights out in Friday's win over Southwest Michigan, pouring in a career-high 28 points on a historic eight three pointers made. Thomas' eight triples tied for second in a single game in program history with Alicia Bullaro who netted eight on Feb. 20, 2019, and was one shy of the program record of nine made by former All-American Emily Swiercz on Feb. 28, 2020.

RICHARDS STUFFS THE STAT SHEET
Freshman guard Kamryn Richards has been racking up the numbers in the box score through her first three games at the collegiate level. The former Grosse Pointe South standout has amassed stat-stuffing totals of 11.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game and started her collegiate career with 17 points in a home win on Nov. 1.

NOT TO BE OVERLOOKED
Coming off the bench cold, Jasmine Ellis was called upon to shoot a pair of free throws late in Saturday's game via injury substitution and the sophomore transfer delivered by knocking down both tries to extend the Monarchs lead from 57-55 to 59-55 with 25 seconds remaining.

EARLY STAT LEADERS
Contributions came from everywhere and the team's balance was on display early and often in the first week of the season. Through the first three games, returning two-time All-Conference selection Amy Jackson paces the Monarchs in scoring at 17.3 points per game and in steals with 4.7 thefts per contest, while Kamryn Richards leads in assists (5.7 APG) and rebounds (6.7 RPG).

CAREER DAY FOR HUDGINS
Sophomore forward Valina Hudgins had a career day in the Monarchs' 59-56 road win at Lake Michigan Saturday (Nov. 5) to close out the Red Hawk Showcase. Hudgins tied a career-high with 19 points and also added nine rebounds in the hard-fought, one-possession victory. Hudgins also had a career day at the free throw line, going 9-of-10 from the stripe in the win (previous high: 4 FTM).

2-0 VS THE MCCAA WEST
After cruising to a 96-33 win over Community Christian at home to start the season, the Monarchs hit the road for two games against MCCAA West opponents at the Red Hawk Showcase. The Monarchs went 2-0 against the West, defeating upstart Southwestern Michigan (75-66) Friday and host Lake Michigan (59-56) Saturday.
