BY THE NUMBERS: 6
Make it six (6) in a row! The Monarchs won their sixth straight game with an impressive 64-28 road triumph over the Kellogg Community College Bruins Wednesday (Dec. 7). The current winning streak tops a five-game unbeaten stretch last season and is the longest winning streak since the Monarchs' historic 43-0 run spanning 2019-2021.

BY THE NUMBERS: 33
With last week's 64-28 win at Kellogg, the Monarchs have now held the opposition to 33 points or less four times this season and under the 30-point threshold twice in a row! The season low is 25 points allowed in a 62-25 win over NC Michigan on Dec. 3. The program record for fewest points allowed is 17 points (70-17 win vs. Washtenaw, 11/5/16).

TWO HOME GAMES AHEAD
There's more fun to be had this week at the Sports & Expo Center after Macomb Women's Basketball added a home game to its schedule. Added last Thursday, the Monarchs will now host Alma College JV Wednesday (Dec. 14) at 7 p.m. before hosting MCCAA Western Conference counterpart, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip-off.

STAT LEADERS
After posting 16 points on the road last week, Amy Jackson remains the Monarchs' leading scorer at 13 points per game. Tamia Tounsel leads the way on the glass with 8.3 rebounds per game and is followed closely by Valina Hudgins and Jasmine Ellis with 6.6 and 5.7 boards per contest, respectively. Kamryn Richards distributes a team-best 4.1 assists per game.

AROUND THE MCCAA EAST
Riding a six-game winning streak, the Monarchs check in second among the eight teams in the MCCAA East as non-conference play rolls on. Seventh-ranked Schoolcraft is lone undefeated team in non-con play from the MCCAA East at 7-0, while Jackson (7-1) and No. 16 Oakland CC (6-1) follow the Monarchs in the one-loss category.

A LOOK AT: ALMA JV
Not much is known about the Scots' JV program this year, but last season the Monarchs went up to Alma and picked up a hard-fought 58-51 win. Former Monarch and current Albion Briton, DeBraya Edwards, posted a game-high 29 points in the victory.

A LOOK AT: KALAMAZOO VALLEY
The third leading scorer in the MCCAA, Abigail Long leads the Cougars of Kalamazoo Valley Community College at 24.3 points per game. Long's 6.9 assists per contest leads the MCCAA, while the Cougars' Hannah Vallier grabs a team-best 9.6 rebounds per game. The Cougars enter the week 4-3 overall and average 68.6 points per game behind a league-leading 36.4% from 3-point land.

UNDEFEATED AGAINST THE WEST
The Monarchs will be aiming to push their record against MCCAA Western Conference opponents to an impressive 5-0 when they host Kalamazoo Valley Saturday at the Sports & Expo Center. The Monarchs enter the week 4-0 against teams out of the MCCAA West with wins over Southwest Michigan (75-66), Lake Michigan (59-56), Glen Oaks (53-31) and Kellogg (64-28).

MCCAA EAST COACHES POLL
Following a vote by the league's head coaches, Macomb Women's Basketball was selected fifth in the MCCAA Eastern Conference Preseason Poll. The poll was released Nov. 25 by the league office. Of note, the Monarchs received one first place vote. The Monarchs will be seeking the program's seventh league title this season.
