MONARCH REWIND
Mixed results was the theme last week as the Monarchs started hot, hit a lull, and then ended on a strong note over the course of their three matches. On Monday, the Monarchs raced out to a 2-0 lead before losing in five sets, while Wednesday saw the Blue & White fall in four sets. On Saturday, the Monarchs snapped a six-match skid when they erased a 0-2 deficit to win in five sets!
INSIDE THE COMEBACK WIN
After six consecutive losses and facing a 0-2 hole on the road, the Monarchs could've easily backed down, but instead the team refused to lose and put their resiliency on display by earning a thrilling comeback victory Saturday at NCMC. The Monarchs staved off a sweep with a 25-22 win in set three, and later won the fourth set 25-19 and the deciding frame by a 15-9 margin.
MCCAA EAST VS. NON-CONFERENCE
Through 12 matches, fourth-year head coach Lauren "Doogie" Duquette and the Monarchs have posted a 4-8 record overall and a 0-5 record in MCCAA Eastern Conference action. While the Monarchs are winless in five league matches, the Blue & White have a winning record in non-conference play at 4-3 after Saturday's road victory.
