BY THE NUMBERS: 9
Macomb Women's Basketball went 1-1 last week with an impressive 61-55 road win at SC4 Wednesday (Jan. 25) and a narrow 59-52 setback at home to OCC Saturday (Jan. 28) afternoon. After two defensive showings that held opponents under 60 points, the Monarchs check in No. 9 nationally in scoring defense and hold teams to an average of 51.9 PPG.

BY THE NUMBERS: 19
What a week for Amy Jackson! The program's record holder for single season and career 3-pointers made dropped in back-to-back games with five triples on her way to scoring a game-high in both outings. Jackson tallied 17 in Wednesday's win and 21 Saturday to average 19 points per game on the week (season avg.: 12.1 PPG).

NEARING THE HALFWAY POINT
The first half of Eastern Conference action will come to a close this week when the Monarchs host Wayne County Wednesday before traveling to new MCCAA East member, Jackson, Saturday afternoon. By the end of the week, the Monarchs will have played all teams in the league and will cycle back through one more round of games before postseason play begins in March.

STAT LEADERS
After a strong week on the hardwood, Amy Jackson continues to lead the team in scoring at 12.1 points per game. Tamia Tounsel is next in the scoring column at 9.7 points per contest and also leads the team on the boards with 8.6 rebounds per game. Kamryn Richards paces the assist category with just over four per game, while Jackson swipes a team-best 2.3 steals per contest.

INSIDE THE WIN AT SC4
Down by 11 after one quarter of play and trailing by as many as 14 points, the Monarchs put their grit on  display in a 61-55 comeback road victory Wednesday at SC4. The Monarchs outscored the Skippers 15-6 in the second  quarter to get to within two at the break and eventually took over in the late stages of the game for the win.

90% FROM THE LINE!
Okay, we get it, there's a heavy dose of Amy Jackson in this edition of game notes ... but it's well deserved! The sophomore has shot an incredible 90% (27-of-30) from the free throw line this season (an average that ranks third nationally - min. 30 free throws attempted).

A LOOK AT: WAYNE COUNTY
The Wayne County Community College District Wildcats come into Wednesday's game with a 1-14 overall record and a 0-5 mark in MCCAA East play. Despite the winless league record, the Wildcats have been in every game late, including Monday's 78-76 home overtime setback to Mott. Monica Williams leads three Wildcats in double figures at 24.4 points per game.

A LOOK AT: #19 JACKSON
The Monarchs will conclude the week with arguably their toughest test to-date in conference play when they visit No. 19 Jackson Saturday (Feb. 4) afternoon. The Jets enter the week 5-0 in the MCCAA East and 16-1 overall with their only loss coming by one point at South Suburban on Nov. 12. Kaycee Shannon leads a balanced Jets team with 16.7 points per game.

HUNGER GAMES & SOPHOMORE DAY
Believe it or not, the 2022-23 regular season is nearing an end and only four home games remain (including Wednesday's game vs. Wayne County). On Feb. 18, Macomb will host its MCCAA Hunger Games doubleheader -- all fans will get in FREE with a non-perishable food item donation. Sophomore Day will follow in the home finale on Feb. 28.
