BY THE NUMBERS: 3
Make that three (3) MCCAA Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors in a row for Tamia Tounsel! On Tuesday (Nov. 28), the sophomore forward was announced as the conference's Player of the Week for third time in as many weeks after posting her third double-double in four games with 14 points and 12 rebounds at Owens on Nov. 21.

BY THE NUMBERS: 4
The Monarchs have shot out to a 3-1 record behind a balanced effort across the board. Through four games, four (4) Monarchs are averaging eight or more points per game (PPG), led by Tamia Tounsel at 17.3 PPG. Marissa Thomas is next with 13.8 PPG, while Enddiea Reese and Kamryn Richards check in at 9.0 and 8.0 PPG, respectively.

TIME TO GET BACK ON TRACK
After a 3-0 start to the season at home, the Monarchs hit the road last week and were unlucky as baskets wouldn't fall in a road loss to NJCAA Division III No. 3 Owens Community College. This week, the Monarchs will look to get back on track but will face a tough test when they visit the 5-1 Lansing Community College Stars on Saturday (Dec. 2) at 1 p.m.

CONTRIBUTIONS EVERYWHERE
While we highlighted the scoring balance atop the season stats, the Monarchs are receiving steady contributions everywhere in the box score, especially when it comes to the work done on the glass. Tamia Tounsel paces the action with 11.0 rebounds per game, while five others follow with four or more boards per contest: Marissa Thomas (7.5), Enddiea Reese (5.3), Sydney Garon (4.0) and Hannah Roberts (4.0).

A LOOK AT: LANSING
The Stars enter the week with a 5-1 record and take on Mott Community College Wednesday (Nov. 29) before hosting the Monarchs this weekend. At the time of this release, the Stars are led by freshman center Kara Bartels who averages 19.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. As a team, the Stars average 65.3 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY VS LANSING
While Macomb and Lansing don't meet often, the Monarchs do hold a 3-0 lead in the series (data only goes back to the 2012-13 season). The Monarchs are 2-0 in that span in Lansing and won the last meeting going away, an 89-39 road victory on Dec. 13, 2019.

THE REBOUNDING BATTLE
It's always a key factor, but the battle on the glass between Macomb and Lansing will be paramount in this weekend's battle at Gannon Gymnasium. This season, the Monarchs haul in 42 rebounds per game but have a -5.3 margin. Lansing snags 41.2 boards, compared to 25.2 for their opposition, a +16.0 margin in the rebounding department.

ROAD TRIP CONTINUES
With one away game down, the Monarchs continue on with their massive road swing Saturday at Lansing. After this weekend's road tilt, the Monarchs will visit reigning District A Champion and No. 15 Mid Michigan on Dec. 8 before visiting North Central Michigan on Dec. 9. The road swing closes out with back-to-back games on the west side of the state at Glen Oaks on Dec. 15 and at Kalamazoo Valley on Dec. 16.

AROUND THE MCCAA EAST
Through one month of non-conference action, the MCCAA East is proving to be a balanced and highly-competitive league as four teams enter the week with only one loss: Jackson (5-1), SC4 (4-1), Macomb (3-1) and Schoolcraft (3-1). Wayne County follows the one loss group at 3-3, while Mott (1-2), OCC (2-4) and Henry Ford (1-5) round it out.
