BY THE NUMBERS: 4
Amy Jackson did it again! The sophomore sharpshooter tallied 22 points on seven 3-pointers to lead the Monarchs to a 73-56 at Henry Ford Saturday (Feb. 11). Jackson has now hit seven 3-pointers in a game four (4) times over the course of her career, and as part of a recent hot streak, the sophomore has hit seven triples twice in the past four (4) games.

BY THE NUMBERS: 60
Macomb Women's Basketball went 1-1 last week with a 47-38 road setback to No. 17 Schoolcraft and a 73-56 win at Henry Ford. Despite falling short at Schoolcraft, the defense continued to shine throughout the week as the Monarchs have now held the opposition under 60 points an incredible 14 times this season (11-3 record in those games).

A PIVOTAL WEEK AHEAD
Playoff positioning heats up this week with a pair of tough home games. On Wednesday (Feb. 15), the Monarchs host Mott at 5:30 p.m. Mott is currently one spot out of the Region Tournament and needs a win to remain alive in the playoff race. On Saturday, the Monarchs host the SC4 Skippers, a team that enters the week in third place in the MCCAA East, one game ahead of Macomb.

STAT LEADERS
After pouring in seven triples Saturday, Amy Jackson remains atop the scoring column at 12.3 points per game, while Rayonna Armstrong (9.3), Tamia Tounsel (8.9), Kamryn Richards (8.4), Valina Hudgins (7.4) and Rylee Thomas (7.4) all average seven or more points per contest. Tounsel leads the rebouning department with 8.4 boards per game while Richards dishes out a team-best four assists per game.

PLAYOFF PICTURE
The top five teams in the MCCAA East will qualify for the Region XII Tournament with the top seed receiving a first round bye. Seeds 2-5 will meet March 7 (5 at 2, 4 at 3) with the winner of those games advancing to Mott CC for the semifinals and championship March 9-12. The Monarchs are currently in playoff position and are tied with OCC for fourth place.

HUDGINS ENTERS THE TOP 10
Congrats goes out to Valina Hudgins for entering the top 10 in career rebounds at Macomb! After grabbing 17 boards last week, Hudgins vaulted into 10th place with 379 career rebounds! The record is 931 rebounds (D. Fields, 1996-98).

CHECKING IN ON: MOTT
The Mott Bears enter the week with a 2-7 record in the MCCAA East and a 10-14 mark overall. The Bears visit Warren Wednesday needing a win to keep pace in the race for the conference's final Region XII playoff spot and will be looking to avenge their 44-39 loss to the Monarchs earlier this season. Leah Lappin leads the Bears with an average of 14 points per game.

CHECKING IN ON: SC4
The Skippers of SC4 enter the week in sole possession of third place in the MCCAA East with a 6-3 conference record (15-9 overall). The 6-3 league record positions the Skippers one game ahead of Macomb and OCC, and if the playoffs were to begin today, they would host a first round game. The Monarchs won the first meeting of the season, a 61-55 comeback victory in Port Huron on Jan. 25.

HUNGER GAMES IS SATURDAY
Macomb Athletics will host its MCCAA Hunger Games doubleheader Saturday (Feb. 18) when the SC4 Skippers visit the Sports & Expo Center. Fans will get FREE admission to the games with a canned good and/or non-perishable food item donation. All items donated will be taken to a local food pantry. General admission is $5.00 without a donation.

ONLY THREE HOME GAMES REMAIN
Only three home games remain on the regular season slate (that number includes this week's pair of home games). The Monarchs are home Wednesday, Saturday and again on Feb. 28. Come cheer on the Monarchs!
