BY THE NUMBERS: 6
Macomb Women's Basketball will begin its quest for region title No. 6 in program history on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when they visit SC4 for the quarterfinals of the Region XII Great Lakes District C Tournament. With a win, the Monarchs will advance to the semifinal round Thursday at Mott CC at 11:30 a.m. The championship is Saturday at 12 p.m.

BY THE NUMBERS: 3
Already the program's record holder for most career 3-pointers and most 3-pointers in a season, sophomore forward Amy Jackson is chasing history once again. With three (3) more triples, Jackson will again eclipse the previous record of 75 3-pointers in a season and will sit in first and second place all-time in single season 3-pointers made!

WIN OR GO HOME!
It's win or go home time for the Monarchs and all tournament-qualifying teams from NJCAA Region XII! The Monarchs, the East No. 5 seed and one of four teams in action Tuesday evening in the Great Lakes District C bracket, play at East No. 2 seed SC4 at 7 p.m. The winner of Tuesday's game advances to Mott CC Thursday at 11:30 a.m. to play the winner of the Delta vs. Bay game.

STAT LEADERS
The sophomore tandem of Amy Jackson and Rayonna Armstrong pace six Monarchs averaging over seven points per game at 11.8 PPG and 10.1 PPG, respectively. Tamia Tounsel crashes the glass to the tune of a team-leading 8.3 rebounds per game and Valina Hudgins follows closely at 7.7 rebounds per contest. Freshman guard Kamryn Richards sets up the offense with a team-best 4.2 assists per game.

THE ROAD (BACK) TO PORT HURON
This one should be fun to follow... A win Tuesday in Port Huron will get the Monarchs one step closer to...wait for it...Port Huron! This year, SC4 is once again the host of the NJCAA Division II National Championship, a 16-team national tournament played March 21-25 in Port Huron. We wish the Monarchs the best of luck Tuesday/this week!

TUESDAY'S COVERAGE
The host SC4 Skippers will have live stream ($ - pay per view) and live stats coverage of Tuesday's quarterfinal game. The live stream can be found on portal.stretchinternet.com/stclaircountycc/ -- live stats on SC4Skippers.com

TIP OF THE CAP: 3-YEAR PLAYERS
How about the Macomb careers of three-year players Rayonna Armstrong, Valina Hudgins and Amy Jackson! The trio has combined for some incredible numbers and were all members of the NJCAA Region XII Great Lakes District A Championship Team in 2020-21 (the second of back-to-back region titles for Jay Ritchie and the Monarchs)! Congrats on an amazing career, Monarchs!

THE RUBBER MATCH
Tuesday's region quarterfinal will mark the rubber match for the Skippers and Monarchs after the teams split their regular season meetings, each winning on the road. The Monarchs earned a 61-55 win in Port Huron on Jan. 25 behind 42 combined points from Amy Jackson (17), Rylee Thomas (13) and Kamryn Richards (12).  SC4 won the second meeting of the season, a 68-56 victory in Warren on Feb. 18.

RECENT HISTORY VS. SC4
The past two seasons have been as even as it gets in the series between the Monarchs and Skippers with the teams splitting their four contests, 2-2. Prior to last season, the Monarchs went on a lengthy winning streak over a four season span. The only playoff meeting between the teams in the past 10 seasons went in favor of SC4 in 2016.
