Through 13 games this season, the Monarchs are a perfect 6-0 when scoring
70 or more points and have reached that marked in all but two wins (66-56 victory over Alma JV and a 64-60 win over Muskegon). The Monarchs have reached the
70-point mark in three of their four home games this season and are 4-0 at home overall.
GAMES ADDED
Due to a conference team discontinuing their season, the Monarchs added a pair of games (one home and one away) with Lake Michigan College. The first of two non-conference games against the Red Hawks will take place at home Wednesday (Jan. 17) at 5:30 p.m. The Monarchs will visit the Red Hawks on Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
LEADING THE WAY
The sophomore duo of
Marissa Thomas and
Tamia Tounsel continue to lead the scoring column for a balanced Monarchs team that features four players averaging eight or more points per game (PPG). Tounsel paces the Monarchs at 15.5 PPG and is followed in double digits by Thomas who checks in at 13.2 PPG. Freshman wing
Sydney Garon is next at 8.4 per contest, while sophomore guard
Kamryn Richards nets 8.2 PPG.
LEAGUE PLAY RESUMES SATURDAY
MCCAA Eastern Conference play resumes at home Saturday (Jan. 20) when the Bears of Mott Community College visit the Sports & Expo Center for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
