Box Score WARREN, Mich. – Macomb Women's Basketball shifted to 12-8 overall and 3-4 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference after a 75-45 home setback to the Ocelots of Schoolcraft College on Wednesday (Feb. 7). The shorthanded Monarchs now shift their attention to a non-conference tilt at Lake Michigan College on Saturday (Feb. 10). Tip-off in Benton Harbor is slated for 1 p.m.
As for Wednesday, the Ocelots led 25-13 after one before the Monarchs played the visitors to an even second quarter to trail at the half, 39-27. Shots wouldn't fall from there as the Ocelots used a 15-5 third quarter advantage and a 21-13 edge in the final frame to earn the win.
Tamia Tounsel (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) hauled in a career-best 17 rebounds and dropped in 10 points to record her 12
th double-double of the campaign. The 17 rebounds eclipsed Tounsel's previous best by one, a mark that was set last season against Bryant & Stratton Ohio.
Marissa Thomas (Toledo, Ohio/Perrysburg) led the Monarchs in scoring with 12 points and added three rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists.
Enddiea Reese (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) checked in with eight points and three rebounds, while
Carissa Hankins (Farmington, Mich./Farmington) recorded six points,
Sydney Garon (Shelby Twp., Mich./Henry Ford II) had five and
MaKayla Downs (Chesterfield, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) scored four.
