WARREN, Mich. – Macomb Women's Basketball begins a busy stretch of four games in seven days on Wednesday (Dec. 17) across the border in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, against the Lambton College Lions. Tip-off for the contest is set for 6 p.m. Following the international game, the Monarchs visit Nelsonville, Ohio, on Saturday (Dec. 20) to take on Hocking College at 1 p.m.
The jam-packed slate continues on Monday (Dec. 22) at Montcalm Community College for a 2 p.m. tip-off and wraps up the following at for an away game at nearby Center Line Prepatory Academy against Community Christian College. Tip time for the Community Christian contest is 5:30 p.m.
The Monarchs enter the week with a 5-4 record and are aiming to snap a three-game losing streak.
SCOUTING LAMBTON: After meeting in the preseason for a scrimmage, the Monarchs will visit the Lions of Lambton College Wednesday evening for their first regular season matchup. The Lions enter Wednesday's contest—a scrimmage for the hosts—with a 3-5 record on the season.
Maddy Bishop leads the Lions offensively with 14.0 points and 3.5 assists per game, while Simone Wilson has posted 11.5 points per contest. Jordyn Britton is leading the team in rebounding with 8.1 per game.
The Lions are led by head coach Janine Day.
SCOUTING HOCKING: Hocking enters the week with an 8-3 overall record and 2-2 mark in OCCAC play. The Hawks most recently suffered a 86-77 overtime defeat to NJCAA DIII No. 7 Owens Community College last Saturday.
Statistically, the Hawks are led by Lilly Weaver with 11.3 points per night, while Hazely Wagner and Carmyn Woods are averaging 10.5 points per game each. On the glass, Hawa Ba leads the way with 7.5 rebounds per contest.

SCOUTING MONTCALM: The Monarchs will head back to Montcalm Community College on Monday (Dec. 22), this time for a matchup with the host Centurions. While the Monarchs have played at Montcalm (Montcalm Shootout), Monday's matinee matchup at 2 p.m. will mark the first meeting between the programs.
At 2-9 on the season, the Centurions are led by reigning MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Week, Baylor Syrjala, who averages 12.6 points per game. Through 11 games this season, the Centurions average 52.4 points per contest and share the ball well with 11.1 assists per game.
The Centurions are led by head coach Scott Pedigo.
SCOUTING COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN: The Lions of Community Christian College play their home games at nearby Center Line Prepatory Academy in Center Line and are 1-6 on the season at the time of this release.
As a team, the Lions average 43.4 points per game and are paced offensively Alvion Williams at 13.7 per contest. The Lions, led by head coach Evan Fosha, defeated Alpena Community College, 63-60, on Dec. 6 for their lone win of the season.
A LOOK AT MACOMB: The Monarchs were on the wrong end of a 48-44 final score in a narrow setback at Southwestern Michigan College last Friday in Dowagiac.
The Monarchs played shorthanded once again down multiple starters due to injury.
Janiya McWilliams led the Monarchs with 12 points and nine rebounds, while
A'Liyah Forris added 10 points and five rebounds.
Ruby Sandison continued to be a force on the glass as she recorded a career-high rebounding night for the second straight game. The sophomore scored seven points to go along with a new career-best 13 rebounds.
Despite missing the past two games,
Asiyah Jihad continues to lead the team in scoring with 17.0 points per contest. Jihad also corrals a team-high 8.1 rebounds per game. Forris follows Jihad in double figures scoring at 13.4 per game and
MyKenzi Harris averages 11.0 per contest.
Kirk Carolan's team has continued to be a force on the defensive end as the Monarchs have held their opponents to 56.9 points per game. The Monarchs have forced 183 opponent turnovers while registering 104 steals for an average of 11.6 per game.
