MARION, Ind. – Macomb Track & Field got its return outdoor season underway Friday (March 21) at the Indiana Wesleyan University Polar Bear Classic. A total of seven Monarchs competed in the 5K event as
Lucas Shemansky led the way in a loaded field of four-year athletes.
Shemansky set a new PR in the event after racing his way to a 39
th place finish with a time of 16:23.23.
Dylan Penberthy followed in 46
th at 16:35.90 and
Jack DeWaele also finished in the top 50 in 39
th at 16:45.34.
Carson Gilbertson was next in 58
th after crossing the finish line with a time of 17:03.76,
Brandon Penberthy was 61
st at 17:19.23,
Mathieu Fortier recorded a 17:36.18 to finish 65
th and
Preston Corneillie was 72
nd with a time of 18:26.00.
The Monarchs return to action April 5 at the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Invite.
