TIME TO GET BACK ON TRACK
After back-to-back setbacks to begin conference play, the Monarchs will look to get back on track and back into the thick of the MCCAA East race with a trio of home matches ahead. Home court has been kind to the Monarchs in recent memory with the Blue & White earning an impressive 8-3 record in the Sports & Expo Center since the beginning of the 2021 campaign.

Â
THE ALL-IMPORTANT FIRST SET
Statistically speaking, the chances to win a match increase greatly if your team wins the opening set. Well, the Monarchs are proof positive of that through eight matches as they are a perfect 3-0 when winning the first set and conversely are 0-5 when dropping the opening frame.Â
Â
A LOOK AT: SCHOOLCRAFT
The Ocelots of Schoolcraft College enter the week with an even 3-3 record overall and a 0-1 mark in league play. The Ocelots are in action this evening against Henry Ford as each team aims for their first MCCAA East win of the campaign. Through six matches on the young season, the Ocelots have showcased balance offensively with four players tallying 40 or more kills.

THIS WEEK IN MONARCH HISTORY
In this edition of "This Week in Monarch History" we travel back to 2019, Doogie's first season as head coach of the Monarchs. On Sept. 13, 2019, the Monarchs picked up their first of three wins over Schoolcraft that season with a four-set, neutral-site triumph. Kara Lewicki (13 kills) and Princess Johnson (12 kills) combined for 25 of the team's 41 kills in the 3-1 victory.
Â
RECENT RECORD VS. THE OCELOTS
The Monarchs are an impressive 6-1 against the Schoolcraft Ocelots in the Doogie era with the only loss coming via forfeit in the Covid season when the Blue & White didn't have enough healthy student-athletes to play. Last season, the Monarchs cruised in both matchups with the Ocelots, winning each contest by a 3-0 margin.Â
