The 2024 edition of Macomb Softball kicks off Sunday (March 3) with the program's annual trip to Florida's Space Coast! The Monarchs will play
12 games over the course of a six day span, including a game each against region counterparts Hocking and Muskegon and a pair of tough tests at NJCAA No. 5 Indian River State. Good luck, Monarchs!

New year, new look! While the 2024 Macomb Softball team features a host of new faces who are primed to make an immediate impact, the program will rely on key experience as head coach
Jim Beard, back for season No.
8 at the helm, brings back
eight (8) returners from a 2023 squad that went 22-20 overall and 16-14 in conference play.
WE HAVE LIFT-OFF!
Space Coast Games, here we come! The action begins Sunday with a 4:30 p.m. first pitch against Bismarck State College, a NJCAA D2 program out of Region 13. A game against Region 12 counterpart Hocking follows at 6:15 p.m. Sunday. All games will be played at the Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, Fla., except for the March 6 twin bill at NJCAA D1 No. 5 Indian River State.
BEYER'S BIG BAT
Out of the eight returners, six are position players who bring back plenty of firepower at the plate for Beard and the Monarchs, led by the bat of sophomore C/SS/3B,
Brynn Beyer. Last season, Beyer appeared in all 42 games, starting 41, on her way to belting eight home runs to go along with 11 doubles while driving in 25 runs on a .354 BA, .650 SLG% and a 1.060 OPS.
THE BALANCE CONTINUES
While Beyer leads the returning cast,
Savanna Clark brings back a .350 BA and nine stolen bases and
Carleigh Bilpo returns from a freshman campaign that featured a team-best 14 doubles on a .336 BA.
Katelyn Thomas scored 23 runs and hit seven doubles, while
Haley Mitchell and
Lexi Murray combined to drive home 13 runs.

IN THE CIRCLE
The No. 1 starter from 2023,
Allison Vogt, returns for her second season in the circle for Beard and the Monarchs in 2024. Last season, Vogt recorded 12 wins and tossed 14 complete games while punching out 125 batters across 118.2 innings.
Katelynn Fraser is back for year two in the circle after earning five wins and striking out 44 in 76.0 innings pitched a season ago.
REPLACING BIG PRODUCTION
Despite the bevy of incoming talent and the returning production at hand, the Monarchs will have to figure out how to replace two of the best hitters in program history,
Danielle Erickson and
Elizabeth Townsend. Both Erickson and Townsend hit over .400 during their time at Macomb while Townsend ended her career as the program's all-time home run leader.
