BY THE NUMBERS: 5
Entering the week on a roll! Macomb Softball enters the home stretch of the regular season on fire, winning five (5) in a row and seven of their last nine to improve their record to 19-11 overall and 15-5 in the MCCAA East. The 15-5 record places the Monarchs second in the conference, five (5) games ahead Schoolcraft and three back of Mott.

BY THE NUMBERS: 3
The Monarchs came back to defeat SC4 on Monday by an 8-5 final thanks in large part to three (3) home runs, none bigger than the 3-run, go-ahead moonshot off the bat of Ally Prasnjak in the top of the seventh! Katelyn Thomas followed with a solo homer one batter later and Kaycee Stang got the scoring started with a fourth inning grand slam!

BIG WEEKEND OF ACTION
The Monarchs are set to return to action Friday at 3 p.m. with a MCCAA East twin bill against Schoolcraft at Northville's Ward Church. The Monarchs can officially clinch a playoff spot with a sweep Friday, or with one win and some help across the conference. On Saturday, the Monarchs host Mott as the league's top two teams collide in Warren for a 1 p.m. first pitch.

OFFENSIVELY SPEAKING
The Monarchs enter this week's contests with the best team batting average (.369), on-base percentage (.428) and slugging percentage (.562) in the entire MCCAA. Savanna Clark has a team-best .468 average, followed by Ally Prasnjak at .435. Prasnjak is slugging a team-leading .870 with seven home runs and 11 doubles (31 RBIs). Haley Mitchell (.410), Carleigh Bilpo (.403) and Brynn Beyer (.400) all follow at .400+.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK (AGAIN)
Back-to-back! Congrats (once again) to freshman right-handed pitcher Grace Dzikowski for earning her second MCCAA East Pitcher of the Week honor in as many weeks! Dzikowski went 2-0 last week with 19 total strikeouts, a 1.17 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. Dzikowski's week was highlighted by tossing a 1-hitter in a home win over OCC.

VOGT RETURNS
While Grace Dzikowski has earned back-to-back weekly honors, the Monarchs received back-to-back-back wins from top returner, Allison Vogt. After missing a chunk of time, Vogt returned to the circle last week and continued to work back into her 2023 All-Conference form with three wins in five appearances (19 K's in 19.2 IP)!

BACK TO NORTHVILLE
The Schoolcraft College Ocelots welcome the Monarchs to Northville (Ward Church) on Friday for a MCCAA East doubleheader at 3 p.m. The Ocelots check in with an even conference record of 10-10 and are 16-14 overall under the direction of first year head coach Breanna Rice. The Monarchs are 3-1 this season against the Ocelots, losing the last  game after winning the previous three by a combined 40-8.

HUGE IMPLICATIONS
Checking in with five losses compared to Mott's three, the Monarchs are set to host the Bears on Saturday for what could be a doubleheader that features massive league title implications. At 19-3, the Bears hold a three-game lead over the 15-5 Monarchs, but the Blue & White could have a chance to bring Mott even in the loss column should they get through Friday with a sweep. The Monarchs enter the week 1-3 against Mott this season.

THE PLAYOFF PICTURE
The top three teams from the MCCAA East qualify for one of the two NJCAA Region 12 Great Lakes District Tournaments (A or B) with the first and third seeds heading to District B and the second seed to District A. Currently, the Monarchs are the second seed, well ahead of third place Schoolcraft and two losses back (3 GB overall) of Mott.
