BY THE NUMBERS: 7
Congratulations, Monarchs, you're South Carolina bound! For only the seventh (7) time in program history, Macomb Softball is heading to the World Series after the Monarchs captured the 2024 Great Lakes District A Championship with a perfect 4-0 tournament last weekend in Marysville. Congrats and good luck, Monarchs!

BY THE NUMBERS: 17
Earlier this week on the NJCAA Network, the Monarchs received the No. 17 seed in the upcoming World Series and will compete in one of the four play-in games against the 16-seed Potomac State Catamounts. The winner of the 16/17 matchup, scheduled for Monday (May 20) at 11 AM, will take on No. 1 Parkland Tuesday at 11 AM.

A HISTORIC RUN
Let's rewind to last week's Great Lakes District A Championship! The Monarchs got the postseason started with a 6-3 win over Edison State and followed that game up with an impressive 9-5 victory over the bracket's top seed, Lansing. The Monarchs cruised in the winner's bracket final the next day against Hocking, 8-0, before capturing the district crown with a 5-4 victory over Hocking on Saturday.

LEADING THE WAY
What a year it has been for the Monarch offense! At the close of district play, the Monarchs lead all MCCAA teams in batting average at .365 and posted the best slugging percentage in the region at .561. Savanna Clark leads the team in average at .441 while Ally Prasnjak paces the power department with 13 home runs, 13 doubles, six triples and 49 RBIs behind a .431 BA, .509 OBP and .875 SLG%.

MVP! MVP! MVP!
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Allison Vogt was dialed in once again last week on her way to earning Great Lakes District A Tournament MVP honors. Vogt appeared in all four games and went on to notch a perfect 3-0 record over the final three contests while earning a save in the tournament opener. In all, Vogt fanned 16 batters and had a 2.33 ERA in 24 innings.

CONGRATS, MONARCHS!
Joining Vogt on the Great Lakes District A All-Tournament Team was the sophomore trio of Brynn Beyer, Carleigh Bilpo and Savanna Clark. Beyer and Bilpo earned spots on the All-Tournament Team after combining for four home runs and 10 RBIs, while Clark played stellar defense in center field and was balanced offensively.

THE FIRST OPPONENT
Time to meet the Catamounts of Potomac State College, a division of West Virginia University. The Region 20/Mid-Atlantic District Champions, the Catamounts enter the World Series on a 10-game winning streak and are one of the more potent teams offensively in the field. The Catamounts have a trio of hitters with 10 or more home runs and a pitching staff that has posted a 2.98 season ERA.

BRING THE BALANCE
While Clark and Prasnjak pace the Monarchs atop the average column, three  other players check in above .400, including Carleigh Bilpo at .419, Brynn Beyer at .411 and Haley Mitchell at an even .400. Katelyn Thomas is next at .369 and is second on the team in RBIs with 40 behind 11 doubles and six home runs. Beyer has seven home runs and 37 RBIs while Bilpo checks in with five long balls and 30 RBIs.

LIVE STREAM & ADMISSION INFO
For those attending the World Series, the cost of admission is $15/day or $50 for a tournament pass (12 & Under = FREE). For those wishing to watch the Monarchs back home, the NJCAA will live stream every game on the NJCAA Network (njcaa.org/network). Please note: the cost is $12 for a day pass or $35 for a tournament pass to watch all games.
