CHARLOTTE, NC – Three Macomb teams and 22 student-athletes were honored by the NJCAA Thursday (July 24) when the association released its annual Academic Teams of the Year and All-Academic Team award recipients.

To achieve NJCAA Academic Team of the Year status, a team must post a 3.0 or above GPA in the current academic year (2024-25) and meet all other NJCAA qualifications. Of the Macomb teams recognized, baseball led the way with a 2024-25 team GPA of 3.25. The women's basketball team followed with a 3.19 and women's volleyball rounded out the Monarch programs honored with a 3.11 team GPA. As for individual All-Academic Team recognition—also unofficially referred to as NJCAA Academic All-Americans—student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher while passing 24 or more credit hours in the current academic year (NJCAA exemptions and additional qualifications apply). The GPA requirements for the three All-Academic Teams are:

• NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
• NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
• NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA

In all, 22 Macomb student-athletes posted a 3.60 or above GPA for the 2024-25 academic year with five earning a perfect 4.0 GPA. To view a full list of all student-athlete award winners, visit: NJCAA All-Academic Awards
