KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Macomb Sports Information Director Tim Johnston has been named the 2026 NJCAA Sports Information Director of the Year. Johnston was presented with the award on Wednesday (April 15) evening at the NJCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

Johnston has been with the Macomb Athletic Department since February 2020. He directs all publicity efforts for the department's varsity sports, and is also in charge of maintaining statistics and record books, as well as publishing live streams and creating highlight videos of Monarch sporting events.

Along with his work at Macomb, Johnston has been the Communications Director for the MCCAA and NJCAA Region 12 for the past two-plus years. He attends all league/region meetings, assists with championship events and provides sports information support for the 24 member schools of the MCCAA.
